I am extremely proud to be a student of Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance (SSBF). This B-school stands out among the Indian B-schools in many ways. Here, the academic aspect is not the only parameter given importance; equal emphasis is laid on the overall development of the students.
To start with, our college has various committees for organizing many events, guest lectures, workshops, and even for placements! Our faculties leave no stone unturned to assist and guide the committee members to facilitate their working. We get hands-on experience by organizing all these different kinds of events.
This huge scenic campus provides students many facilities for the upkeep of their good health and fitness. It has courts for many games and sports that interest us – badminton, cricket, football, pool, carom, table tennis to name a few. It also has a recreation center where yoga, meditation and aerobic classes are conducted for reducing mental stress and relaxation. We have a midnight café and a recreation hall for birthday celebrations. The college organizes outbound programs for ice-breaking and heritage tours to give us an overview of the heritage of the city, Pune. It also takes up various CSR initiatives, such as going to schools on weekends for teaching the unprivileged.
Coming to co-curricular activities, the assignments given to us are very realistic and industry-oriented. We get good exposure to various processes and functions in the BFSI sector. The curricular techniques here are dynamic and are regularly updated according to the industry needs. Students get a chance to interact with eminent industry personalities during many events like the Banker’s Conclave and other guest lectures by stalwarts from BFSI industry. All our faculty members have years of industry experience. Nevertheless, suggestions from students are always welcome by them. We, the students, are the essence of this college. If I may borrow a quote from President Lincoln and tweak it – Ours is a college for the students, by the students and of the students.
It’s a whole new exciting experience to stay in the college campus and these 2 years are surely going to be the most enriching and vibrant years of my life where I will be groomed into an excellent leader and a consistent performer at my workplaces.
