1 Year at SSBF

There are some choices in life that we will never regret. SSBF was one such choice for me. The first thing that caught my attention when I entered the Assembly hall for the GDPIWAT process last year was the big board that had all important terms related to the BFSI sector. At that moment, I had mixed feelings as I was excited and scared at the same time. I wasn’t sure if I should be afraid as I didn’t know most of it or should I be excited that this place is going to help me master those and even more at the end of these 2 years.

Now that I’m done with my 1st year at SSBF, it’s really worth sharing my experience that enjoyed each and every moment. The best thing about SSBF that differentiates from all the other B-schools that have finance as their major, is the strong curriculum that is followed. All the subjects that we’ve had this 1 year covered an array of concepts right from strengthening the basics to providing an in-depth knowledge in each concept. There are so many subjects that are my personal favorite like Bank Risk management, Credit management, Economics etc.

While the subjects themselves are interesting, the faculty here add more value to it with their own way of teaching. I’ve learnt that listening to these faculty is more than enough for us to retain the concepts for a long time. All the faculty are extremely friendly, approachable anytime anywhere. Right from the assignments to the vivas and presentations, it has been a hell of a year, super stressful yet amazing. It was all worth it.

Now that the studious part is done, we also had our own fun sessions with various events like the Annual sports fest of SSBF – Sangram, the PR event Dalal Street Arena, the cultural and management event – Synopia and what not. Working for these events along with other regular submissions was a real test to our sense of time management and has given a great amount of exposure to all of us. The campus life and the independence each of us enjoy here is something that can’t be explained in words.

One year has just flown by and I’m sure the second year is going to be even more exciting with more amazing challenges, subjects and memories that are in store for us. I Can’t wait.
