June 5, 2017. With a brave face and a heavy heart, I stood at the bus bay. I knew it would be a long time until I see my parents again. But, deep down I knew that the sadness was only temporary. And now, after one month at SSBF, I know that this place is truly home. The first week at SSBF is one which I would always wish to relive. Being a person who is away from home for the first time, it feels like a really new experience. The nights were spent by taking long walks from one end of the campus to the other and meeting new people. However, the best part was the Outbound Program at Kolad. That was the trip that got the entire batch together. It might have been a very exhausting trip, but that trip gave us many inside jokes . “Hariyaali idhar udhar..” is enough to get any SSBF student cracking. I still remember many of us sitting outside SSSS after the trip on a Saturday and laughing crazily.
As the days progressed, the work started increasing. We started getting our assignments, got our study groups and also got into various committees. But, all the tension and worries go off the minute I see Aqua Point – one of the best places on campus, apart from the midnight canteen. The first month seemed to fly very fast, and I can only hope and pray that the two years don’t get over too fast. Even if it means having to eat Dal, Rice, Roti and Paneer on a daily basis.
